It’s hard to believe that such an all-encompassing and saintly sound of a debut EP can come from being recorded within the modest confines of a wardrobe. Domesticated, the debut EP from Melbourne alt-electronic duo, Casper Cult, was captured on as little as an iPhone app with the aid of cheap analogue synthesizers and a drum machine – and the result is far from modest.
Recently released on London-based label, DryCry Records, home to exciting alt-electronic acts such as Constantina, Sleepwalkers and White Ship, Casper Cult’s DIY debut manipulates raw sounds in conjunction with minimal synthetics. The EP’s highlight comes in the form of opening track, Endless Nightmare in its welcoming, meditative beauty. Casper Cult is masterminded by vocalist, Alisha Linsdell, and producer, Dylan Hill, who have been working together as a duo since 2013.
