AZEKEL | Chronophobia

Following on from his BBC Radio and NPR-backed releases New Romance and Holy Matrimony from early 2014, London singer-songwriter and producer, Azekel, closes the year with his most impeccable single yet, Chronophobia. On the first day of its release the track clocked over 10,000 plays on Soundcloud, already catching the eye of music taste-maker Pigeon & Planes citing the East London producer as one of the U.K’s most promising newcomers of 2015.

For those who aren’t up-to-date with their phobia references, the tracks narrative lends to the fear of time – or more specifically – the fear of time moving too fast. Carrying over his influences once again from more freeform and soul-soothed artists, such as Marvin Gaye and Miles Davis, Azekel (pronounced ay-ze-ke-el) rests his soulful vocal on bed of pulsing, immersed bass, which he references as something which isn’t distinctly R&B and not your “archetypal street sound” either. The twenty-something producer has also made references to an LP release early in 2015 to follow on Chronophobia’s release.
