“Safety - a bass heavy, ambient, and alluring track which builds from simplicity into a pseudo-electric arena rock finale."
Flagged as one of Australia’s most “unearthed”
discoveries of the year is multi-instrumentalist and classically trained
vocalist, Josiah Willows aka Jasia. After spending most of this childhood
growing up in the U.S., Willows has been living in Australia since the age of
18 (now 23), and has spent many years playing in bands from a young age. His
apt eye for synthesised instrumentation, however, has lead him into his own
solo project in recent years bringing together both ambient and beat-driven constructs.
His latest single, Safety, combines
art-rock and orchestral dream pop with adolescent vocals and despondent bass,
which is delivered in a heavy, downtempo arrangement. This single has also been
released on the eve of two East Coast tours in Australia; one in support of dreampop
songstress Airling, as well as three headline shows.
